Say a Prayer for Me?

Full disclosure: I'm not an overly religious person, but I do believe in God. And the power of prayer. I need something really bad right now, and I feel like I need more than my own voice out there, flooding the heavens. I'll bet I'm not the only one out there that needs someone to put in a good word with God, so I got the idea for this swap. If you need a prayer, said on your behalf, sign up for this swap.

I think it'll work like this: when you sign up, add a comment about what you want people to pray for. If you want to keep it general, that's OK, God will know what we are praying about, don't you think? This is where we'll read, and put in our own happy thoughts/prayers/meditation/ for other people.

Then, when I assign partners, send a postcard (or letter, if you feel the need for more privacy) to your partner, asking for her (or him) to pray for you, and what for. You can be as detailed or general as you'd like. That's it. When you rate someone else's postcard, I think it'd be good if in the comment section, you let that person know you prayed their prayer. Then, ask them for help with YOUR prayer request, if you'd like.

So, this way we're all helping each other out, in as many ways as possible. If you feel your prayers were answered, wouldn't it be great to let us all know? Maybe with messages, or a general comment below? Or not. You know what you need.

This swap is for sincere people, who are going to actually take a moment to send a postcard, send a message, and send a prayer or two out there. That's it. Don't flake, or feel like you need to be overly religious. This isn't to convince people of anything--just to pray. Here's hoping it does us all some good.
