Wow! We are second from the top on the "Top Swaps" list. Thank you guys for, as Captain Picard would say, making it so! ( OK the inner geek comes out). Anyhow, with this many people it's going to take me a bit of time to go through things. So don't worry if you don't see your partners assigned for a day or two after the deadline. I want to make sure everything is alright before I hit the "Assign" button. Newbies coming into this should not have to deal with a flaker right from the start. So it's best we get rid of them as soon as we can.

Alrighty. Since this did not happen the first time round, let's see if we can get it going again.

This is for all newbies who are tired of banging their heads against the wall, and seeing all these great swaps go by. You need to qualify, but how do you get ratings? I've had the good fortune of being part of some great newbie swaps to help me get going, so hope this will help you.

This is an international swap and you will have one partner. You will send them:

  • 1 notepad
  • 2 fun pencils (either mechanical or wooden)
  • a fun eraser
  • a fun pen
  • a sweet surprise (but not chocolate;it's getting rather warm)
  • a little note introducing yourself!

This should not break the bank;no more than $10.00 for the whole thing, including shipping.

Now some tips:

  • Always wrap pencils and pens well either in bubble wrap or thin cardboard. They will poke through a bubble envie.

  • This is an international swap.So postage will be a little more than national.

  • If you have any ratings that you deem unfair, please talk to me.

  • Remember this is to help you to build credibility and get ratings you would like so badly.Do unto your swap partner as you would have them do unto you. Ship promptly, and if you are stuck, for whatever reason, let them know immediately.

  • When the swap signup deadline comes around, you will be automatically assigned partners, and Swapbot will give you the name and address of who you send to. How you find out that information is when you go to the swap description, there will be a little yellow box on the right hand side that will say "Swap Member Options". Underneath that it will say, "See who you send to" or something like that. But this information will only be available once the swap signup deadline has past

-I know it can be exciting to buy stuff ahead of time, but I would suggest you wait until partners are assigned. Then you can see what your partner likes or is allergic too, most importantly

So fill out those profiles and don't be shy! This is super important. We need to know about you so we can send things that are tailored to you! But allergies are the biggest deal too. Your swap partner cannot know you are allergic to peanuts unless you let her know.
