Description:

This swap is for people diagnosed with bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, or any dissociative, paranoid, or psychotic mental illness with severe mood components (trust me, if this description applies to you, you'll know).

If your diagnosis is anxiety or depression, a friend of mine made the same swap for those conditions here. If your diagnoses fit both swaps, feel free to join both!

Another friend of mine is hosting a Suicide Prevention month swap here, which is open to anyone regardless of diagnosis.

You will write one partner a letter about yourself and your struggles with your illness, at least one 8.5"x11" page front and back. You can vent, talk about treatment, complain about meds, express your biggest fears, share your daily life... whatever is most useful for you.

  • Use common sense if something could be triggering. Don't glorify any type of self-harm. Don't go into explicit detail about trauma.

  • Make sure you mention your actual diagnosis/most prevalent symptoms somewhere just to give your partner context.

  • Also include one profile-based flat surprise to make your partner smile. Homemade is fine unless your partner's profile indicates otherwise.

  • You don't have to write back, but a follow-up PM just to empathize/give encouragement would probably be appreciated

4.85+, newbies with well filled profile, I'll angel but please don't make that necessary. Make sure to include the swap name and your username.

Happy swapping! Here's to meeting someone who "gets" it.
